About L'Albatros

Set right along the peaceful docks of Honfleur, this French spot offers a relaxed setting where you can watch the harbour and enjoy a range of drinks from rosé and local beers to cocktails and coffee. It feels comfortably casual and a bit trendy, making it a friendly gathering place for groups, tourists, university students, and locals alike.

Breakfast is a quieter affair here, with options like eggs, bacon, and croissants served early for those looking to start the day by the water. Later in the day, the atmosphere shifts smoothly into a lively but chilled dining and drinking experience. People come for laid-back lunches, small plates, or an evening meal accompanied by a well-curated wine list and spirits. The bar can be a spot to linger, especially when the lights dim and classic hits from the late ’70s and early ’80s fill the room, inviting a relaxed vibe where even singing along isn’t out of place.

Outdoor seating lets guests soak up the harbour views, and the space feels welcoming for solo diners or groups, with staff that are approachable and easygoing. It’s one of those places where the friendly ambiance, decent local beverage options, and harbour-side location come together to create a steady, comfortable option for casual dining and drinks throughout the day. Dogs are also welcome, adding to the lived-in, community feel of the spot.

What Locals Say

Superbly located overlooking the harbour....stopped by for a demi-litre of rosé post meal. Chilled atmosphere.

Lovely view, tasty drinks... couldn't rate the food because kitchen was closed when we arrived so they didn't serve food at 4pm

The ambiance at night is fantastic at the Albatros! They play all kind of hits from the late 1970s and early ’80s and the waiter didn't have the slightest objection when I sang along with my bluetooth Karaoké microphone…

One of the few places in Honfleur that opens early for breakfast. Fantastic eggs, bacon & croissants. Super nice staff and bar dog included. Loved it!

We were on the hunt for an easy breakfast and this was it! Absolutely delicious croissants and great smoked salmon. The staff was lovely and speedy. Enjoyed!

This has been one of our go to locations as we stayed in Honfleur for two months. The Galettes were our normal reason for coming here. However, I do have to warn that there is a bit of consistency variance. What you see in our photo is hopefully what you will get, however, we have received portions that were about 1/3 smaller with less chicken. It may just be who the cook is in the kitchen. The ambience is great, looking out over the harbor. We only had our favorite waitress there one time, but she was a very memorable person and a real sweetheart. She was raised in Brooklyn originally by two French parents.

Tried L’Albatros for breakfast. Ordered their ham & egg breakfast with croissant. What I liked about the place more than anything was their authentic “coffee shop sound”. That background calm noise when people talk slowly in a coffee shop. I guess their acoustic structure makes it beautiful, specially early morning.
